“Taylor & Bailey went above and beyond for my Mother-in-law. Her only grandchild was married that day and, being hospitalized, she was unable to attend. We (family) had already made arrangements to livestream the ceremony so that she could at least watch and hear the bride and groom exchange their vows in real time. When Taylor learned of this, and saw that it was having an emotional impact on not only her patient but the family as well, she immediately made arrangements to move my Mother-in-law (bed and all) into a quiet room for a couple of hours so she could fully enjoy the wedding over the livestream with no background hospital noises or interruptions. Wheeling her bed from one room to the next, saying, “Coming through! We have an only grandchild’s wedding about to happen and we can’t miss this.” And because of Taylor and Bailey … she didn’t miss it! Plus, the bride and groom snuck away from their own party for a short time to make a wonderful surprise visit to the hospital. As they were arriving, Taylor made a point of giving them a Medical Floor ‘grand double door entrance’ and the entire staff made a lovely to-do about how beautiful they looked in their wedding attire. There wasn’t a dry eye in the place. That day also coincided with being the final rotation day for the college nursing student placements. As they gathered with her in the hallway for their final briefing, as I was walking by them, I put my arm around Taylor’s shoulder and said to the students, “Speaking from the viewpoint of a patient’s family, what you witnessed here today is the difference between a good nurse and a great one. Bedside manner is everything. We will never forget today. These two ladies made sure of that.” Taylor and Bailey … from the bottom of our hearts … thank you for being who you are and for doing what you do. The world needs more compassionate souls like yours. Well done.”
