Renowned Local Artist Donates Special Image – Give The Gift of MRI This Month

PEMBROKE – Barbara Blackstein and the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation have combined efforts to create a Christmas gift that supports the MRI: Image Matters Campaign.

The program is a perfect gift idea for those hard-to-shop-for friends and family. When you make a donation to the MRI Campaign as a Christmas gift for someone, the foundation will send a signed Barbara Blackstein card to the recipient with a personal message from you letting them know you have contributed to the MRI: Image Matters Campaign in their honour.

Blackstein’s oil on canvas painting, Block at the Bridge, perfectly reflects the warmth of communities in the Ottawa Valley and will be featured on this year’s Foundation Christmas Card. “I’ve been painting the people and places of the Ottawa Valley for 40 years,” reflected Mrs. Blackstein. “I am thrilled to be a part of this project that supports such an important cause.”

“MRI wait times keep getting longer, and the drive’s not getting any shorter. An MRI here in the valley, means faster diagnoses and earlier treatment for our families, friends, and neighbours,” continued Mrs. Blackstein.

“We really hope this gift idea resonates with local families as this truly is a wonderful thoughtful present that will benefit so many people,” shared Nancy Warren, Executive Director or the PRHF.
