Heroes Run for Healthcare Raises Over $46,000 For Local Cancer Care!

The Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation is thrilled to announce that 2nd Annual Heroes Run for the Healthcare raised over $46,000 for the Cancer Care Campaign and brought over 350 participants to the downtown core!

“It was an incredible day that was celebrated by nearly 500 people in attendance including guests, runners, and volunteers, as funds were raised for the Cancer Care Campaign to keep Cancer Care close to home. OUR COMMUNITY were the SUPER HEROES for sure!!!!” adds PRH Foundation’s Executive Director, Roger Martin.

A fundraising prize for a brand new Apple iPAD, sponsored by GSX – Griff Slaughter Experience, was done at the event for all those who raised $100 or more for the Cancer Care Campaign and the winner was Laura Carroll.  A prize of $500, sponsored by G&B renovations, was also awarded to the top fundraiser and for the 2nd year in a row the winner was Brent Dupuis who raised an incredible $4095!

Over 170 kids participated in the 2K Superhero run, sponsored by Mike’s Hardware.  Organizer of the 2K superhero run, Tammy Blackmore, adds “We were so excited to see the participation increase by 50 % over last year’s event.   It was fantastic to see the smiles on the children’s faces as they were greeted by their favourite super hero.  We can’t wait until next year’s event.“
