Virtual Un-Gala@Home Returns for Final Year In Support of the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation

The Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation and planning committee are excited to announce the return of the virtual Un-Gala@Home fundraising event!

As Ontarians gradually expand their social bubbles, the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation will host a virtual gala on October 16th that serves as an opportunity for attendees to reconnect with friends and loved ones for a great cause!

Individuals can purchase tickets for a sumptuous four-course dinner fully prepared by Ullrich’s with homemade baguette provided by Loaf Artistry Bakery, dessert prepared by 2 Tarts & a Truffle and Coffee provided by Madawaska Coffee Co., specially paired with wine and accompanied with beautiful flowers from Astrid’s – to be picked up or delivered to your home by Valley Eats. Proceeds from the Un-Gala@Home will support the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation’s Cancer Care Campaign, which will fund the expansion and upgrades to the Chemotherapy and Medical Daycare Unit at the PRH.

Un-Gala @ Home Committee Chair, Laura Carroll described the vision of this charity event: “For the past 16 years, the Gala has presented an opportunity for our community to celebrate the amazing healthcare we have here in Pembroke, and despite the pandemic, we have been able to continue that celebration in the comforts of home! The Gala@Home was a huge success last year, raising over $135,000 and this year will be no different. Friends and family are gathering in small groups, to raise a toast to our amazing doctors, nurses, and hospital staff, who have worked tirelessly to keep us safe and healthy over the last 18 months. We’re going to have a fantastic time, and raise much needed funds for the Cancer Care Campaign – a win, win! Thank you to everyone who has donated, and participated in this amazing event!

PRHF Executive Director, Roger Martin, remarked on the importance of continued support for the Regional Hospital saying, “Things have certainly been different over the past 18 months during the Pandemic, and shifting the Gala to an Un-Gala, was something that simply had to happen. We had hoped that the community would once again rally for the hospitals needs and they did not disappoint. We are already on track to achieve our goal of $175,000 to assist us with closing our Phase 1 Cancer Care Campaign Goal of $1.65 Million in the coming months, so we can move forward with Phase 2 of the Campaign which is an additional $1.85 Million to complete the entire project to Upgrade the Chemotherapy and Medical Daycare Unit, and keep cancer CARE close to home.”

Roger Martin further remarks, “I wish to thank our many sponsors and contributors for the Un-Gala, as we would not be able to reach these milestones without their generosity and support. A special thank you to this years Gift of Humanity Sponsors; Frank Carroll Financial, Ray & Barb Pilon (Canadian Tire Pembroke), Pembroke Radiologist Group and BUMP 50/50”.
Community Fundraising Specialist, Leigh Costello, states, “This event would not be possible without our amazing planning committee! I would like to thank each and every one of them for their hard work and dedication, making this event a huge success for local healthcare! Thank you to Laura Carroll (chair), Lana Murphy (vice-chair), Marion Ullrich, Holly MacDonald, Marianne Minns, Marcey Stefanski, Lisa Edmonds, Patti Bromley, May Seto, Stephanie Lemay, Victoria Sweet, Carol Murphy, Claire Ullrich, Briana Donnelly, Donna Saal, Jake Neville, Christy Natsis & Mark Williamson”.
