Heroes Run for Healthcare Raises Over $57,000 For Local Cancer Care!

(Pembroke) The Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation is thrilled to announce that the Annual Heroes Run for the Healthcare presented by Canadian Nuclear Laboratories raised a record $57,507.60 once all the funds were counted and brought 496 participants to the downtown core! 

 

“It was an incredible day that was celebrated by over 500 people in attendance including guests, runners, and volunteers, as funds were raised for the highest priority equipment needs at your Pembroke Regional Hospital. OUR COMMUNITY was the SUPERHERO for sure!!!!” adds PRH Foundation’s Executive Director, Roger Martin. 

 

A prize of $500 was also awarded to the top fundraiser and for the 4th year in a row the winner was Brent Dupuis who raised over $3187.00!  Algonquin College entered a team, lead by Patricia Kim who also raised an incredible amount of $5380.53 and counting all in honour of Jamie Bramburger. 

Over 242 kids participated in the 2K Superhero run, sponsored by Bradley Law. Organizer of the 2K superhero run, Tammy Blackmore, adds “We were so excited to see the participation increase over last year’s event. It was fantastic to see the smiles on the children’s faces as they were greeted by their favourite superhero. We can’t wait until next year’s event. “

 

The 5K timed run, sponsored by MacEwen Petroleum, had 254 runners participate in the event.  Runners were given a participation medal when crossing the finish line that was sponsored by Bergeron Clifford Injury Lawyers.  The run timing was sponsored by Dr. Christy Natsis & Associates and medals were given to the following runners in the following categories:

Male:

1-12 – 1st place – Henry Bursey

13-24– 1st place – Ethan De Jong

25 – 34 – 1st place – Stuart Macpherson

35 – 49 – 1st place – Cameron Dube

50 – 64 – 1st place – Brian O’Malley

65+ – 1st place – Ron Sauer

Overall Male:  

1st – Stuart Macpherson

2nd – Sam Agnew

3rd – Ethan De Jong

 

Female:

1-12 – 1st place – Molly Liu

13 – 24 – 1st place – Ryan Johnston

25 – 34 – 1st place – Morgan Gallant-Miles

35 – 49 – 1st place – Camille-Audree Lefebvre

50 – 64 – 1st place – Patricia Kim

65+ – 1st place – Val Chafe
