STEP INSIDE A HOLIDAY WONDERLAND
On Sunday, December 9th, the Dobbs Family and Grey Gables Inn will be opening their doors to the public from 11am to 7pm, in support of the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation. With incredible community support over the past three years, this event has raised over $18,000. Festive décor, treats and live music make this the perfect opportunity to get into the holiday spirit, while supporting your local hospital!
The Dobbs Family, who launched this event in 2015, have been loyal supporters of the PRH Foundation through the Festive Tours, and by standing on the Black and White Gala committee. “We feel very fortunate to have access to best-in-class health care right in Pembroke, offering essential services to our friends and family. Hosting the Festive Open House is a way for us to support our local hospital, while welcoming members of our community into our home, which has turned into a holiday tradition,” said Lynda Dobbs. Area residents love the chance for a tour inside this stunning 14,800 square foot home, decorated with numerous Christmas trees and colour-themed rooms. Don’t miss the opportunity to see the show-stopping bar and lounge downstairs, or the stunning kitchen with a 14’ island and pull-out pantries hidden in the wall columns!
The PRH Foundation is thrilled to announce that Grey Gables Inn will be participating in the Open House this year, giving revellers the chance to take in the elaborate historic architecture of this 15,400 square-foot iconic building. Guests will have the chance to view the tea room, spa, games room, two suites, and then enjoy the warmth of the fire in the exquisite lobby! “We have received over-whelming support from residents of the Ottawa Valley since buying Grey Gables and opening the tea room, and it’s an honour to be able to give back to our local hospital. The Inn is glittering with holiday décor and charm, and we are thrilled to share it with our community”, said Lisa Borquez, owner of Grey Gables Inn. A holiday movie, “Pride, Prejudice and Mistletoe” was recently filmed at Grey Gables Inn, airing on December 10th, making this the perfect time for a tour. Will you recognize all the rooms from the movie?
Tickets for the Festive Open Houses are $15.00 in advance or $20.00 at the door, and can be purchased at Ashley Homestore Select, Candlewick Gift Shop (Cobden), Pick-it-Fence, Runge’s Stationers (Petawawa), Sandstone Imports, and the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation. Ticket holders will also receive $4.00 off Afternoon Tea, hosted in Grey Gables’ stunning library (valid until December 31st 2018).
The Dobbs’ Home is located at 221 Golf Course Rd in Pembroke, and Grey Gables Inn’s address is 353 Mackay St. We ask that no children under the age of 12 attend the Open Houses, kindly leave all purses locked in your vehicle, and please no photography.
All ticket sales will support the Cutting Edge Campaign, raising money for the orthopaedic equipment and renovations to the circa 1950’s surgical in-patient rooms. The campaign has raised $1.6 million dollars so far, with a goal of $2.5 million.
