(Pembroke) With your help, on March 1st, phones will be ringing off the hooks at Pembroke Mall, where the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation will be holding their first-ever Connecting to Care Radiothon (brought to you by myFM, Pembroke Mall, NRTC Communications, Butler GM, Assante Financial, Frank Carroll Financial and EGM Insurance and Pembroke Mitsubishi).
Hosted by Ottawa Valley’s beloved MC, Art Jamieson and one of Renfrew County’s most popular radio stations, 104.9 myFM, the Radiothon will give listeners and mallgoers an opportunity to get to know their Hospital.
During the Radiothon, listeners can tune in to hear heart-warming stories from PRH nurses, doctors, former patients and donors.
Meanwhile at Pembroke Mall, attendees of all ages can enjoy live entertainment and shadow health care professionals at the Teddy Bear Clinic. PRH staff and doctors will also attend to meet community members and displays will be set up to showcase the various programs and services available at Pembroke Regional Hospital – including diabetes and glucose testing, stroke prevention, PRH mental health services, volunteer services and more.
When March 1st arrives, call in to support your Hospital with a pledge and possibly hear your name announced on the air!
As our community joins together, pledges to the Connecting to Care Radiothon will help bring us ever closer to the $2.5 million Cutting Edge Campaign goal to fund orthopaedic equipment and the revamping of the hospital’s 1950’s-era surgical in-patient rooms.
Stay tuned as the event grows and new guests and entertainment get added to the docket. The Connecting to Care Radiothon takes place March 1st, 2018 at Pembroke Mall and over 104.9 myFM from 11am to 6pm.
Donations towards the Cutting Edge Campaign are welcome at any time and can be made by contacting the Foundation Office at 613-732-2811 ext. 7408 or at www.prhfoundation.com

As lead sponsor of the 4th Annual Valentine’s Dance, TD Bank recently presented the Valentine’s Dance Committee with a cheque for $2,500 to help upgrade and replace equipment at the Pembroke Regional Hospital.
“Access to comprehensive health care is something that affects us all,” shared Brian Gillespie, of TD Bank Pembroke Branch Manager. “TD remains dedicated to working with community partners in improving our area for families and individuals alike.”
Held on a particularly cold February 13th at the Travelodge Pembroke, the lively evening featured the local Joe Lance Band and Ottawa’s own Me & Him. Between dancing the night away and enjoying mouth-watering hors d’oeuvres, guests participated in the silent auction featuring an incredible array of prizes donated by local businesses.
Thanks to attendees, sponsors and the silent auction donors, the Valentine’s Dance Committee raised over $10,000 that can now be invested in regional health care services to better serve the 100,000 person catchment area of the Pembroke Regional Hospital.
Receiving the gift were PRHF Board Member and Valentine’s Dance Committee Co-Chair Eli Boucher and PRHF Fundraising and Development Assistant Sarah Neadow. “The dance is a highlight during the long winter months, offering a personalized experience for our guests,” Miss Neadow said. “We are grateful for everyone who braved the cold and made the night an incredible success.”
The Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation is currently fundraising to upgrade and replace equipment across departments. For more information, please contact the PRHF Office at (613) 732-2811 ext. 7408 or email foundation@pemreghos.org today.

GallantMEDIA’s continuing partnership with the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation builds Healthier Community Together
Successes of the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation are thanks to community donations, including stellar business partnerships. Today we wanted to recognize local entrepreneur and multimedia-businessman Shawn Gallant, of GallantMEDIA who continues to invest in his community by aiding the PRHF in helping raise funds to improve health care access, closer to home.
Began in 2004, GallantMEDIA offers dedicated web experts, advertising designers, and marketing professionals for clients. With locations in Pembroke and Ottawa, GallantMEDIA offers full service products for businesses looking to get their message out. Most recently, GallantMEDIA acquired Showcase in Petawawa, the Valley’s largest home consumer and leisure show.
For many years, GallantMEDIA has provided comprehensive web support for the Foundation, helping guide and shape our online portal to help us tell our story, and offer our community a venue to participate through.
Beyond the digital, in 2015 GallantMEDIA designed and printed the Black & White Gala programs, a vital element of our signature event. Showcasing regional sponsors and donors, the program provides a take-home central listing for attendees and businesses to reflect on the tremendous philanthropic giving spirit of our community.
Community partnerships are the cornerstone of continued excellence, in business and in health care. As the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation works to secure funding to upgrade or replace equipment across the hospital, we are continually looking for new and innovative fundraising partnerships.
For more information regarding the current fundraising project or if you group have a fundraising idea, wish to volunteer, or make an outright donation; please contact the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation at (613) 732-2811 ext 7408, or email foundation@pemreghos.org.

Preparations Underway for 4th Annual Party on Saturday February 13th
(Pembroke) – A new year brings new opportunities: TD and Bistro 900 are proud to present the 4th Annual Valentine’s Dance! With two lead sponsors, new location, and a new headlining band, the TD Valentine’s Dance on February 13th is bigger than ever before.
“We are thrilled to be at the Travelodge’s Bistro 900 for our fourth annual party,” shared Committee Chair and Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation board member Eli Boucher. “For $25, each attendee can dance away to four hours of live music night with two tremendous bands, appetizers served all night long, and a $10 coupon for Bistro 900 all while supporting regional health care.”
Headlining the night is the fantastic Me & Him. Thanks to generous donations of local businesses the signature silent auction is growing by the day.
“The night is shaping up to be a tremendous party for attendees,” shared co-chair and Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation Fundraising and Development Assistant Sarah Neadow. “Bring a group of friends, a dance partner, or find them there, this is going to be a terrific party in February.”

Brian Kendrick’s Travelonly is offering comprehensive vacation planning while donating a percentage to charitable causes. To date, Brian’s Travelonly has donated $3,207 to the MRI Image Matters campaign and wants to help realize community goals while individuals and families realize their vacation dreams.
“The vacation to donation program is at no extra cost to traveller,” shared Brian. “My office is thrilled to not only make vacation dreams come true, but also support our community through philanthropic initiatives.
In business for over 10 years, Brian Kendrick’s Travelonly office has 3 team members and has arranged and facilitated vacations and trips for hundreds of individuals, families and groups. As travellers book their holidays through Brian, they can request that up to 1% of the pre-tax cost be donated to a registered charity such as the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation.
“Everybody needs access to health care,” said Brian. “I personally understand and appreciate the need for an MRI locally. Having that service, here at home in the community instead of down the highway saves time and reduces risk on those who have to travel to Ottawa for the same service in the past.
“Community partnerships are integral to the continued success and vibrancy of our region, and of our regional hospital,” said Nancy Warren, Executive Director of the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation. “Brian’s Travelonly has supported our Lotto MRI in the past, and we are thrilled he continues to with this initiative of vacations to donations. Thank you Brian.”
Over $4,260,000 has been raised towards the purchase and installation of an MRI at the regional hospital. With less than $240,000 remaining in their goal, it is the perfect time to be a part of the path to improving access to comprehensive health care, closer to home. For more information on MRI Image Matters, to make a donation, or if you have a fundraising idea, call (613) 732-2811 ext. 7408 today.
