With Christmas right around the corner, Lynda and Kirk Dobbs will be once again opening their home and also debuting their Corvette garage for a Festive Fundraising Tour in support of the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation.
With eight Christmas trees and decorations adorning shelves and end tables, the Dobbs have created a must-see Winter Wonderland for family and guests alike.
“Christmas has always been an important holiday to us, bringing together friends and families from across great distances,” shared Mrs. Dobbs. “We had such a positive response from the guests last year that we were inspired to open our home again and to help spread the spirit of Christmas and fundraise for our hospital because community and fellowship are important especially this time of year.”
The Dobbs are inviting people into their home for two Christmas Tour dates, one on Dec. 16 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and the second on Dec. 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Located on 221 Golf Course Rd., guests will be welcomed into the Great Hall, before being led throughout the 14,800 square foot home where Mrs. Dobbs has spent countless hours decorating. From trees to lights to fireplaces, the elegance carries from the kitchen to individually holiday themed rooms—there is enough Christmas wow-factor around every corner to make even Mrs. Claus proud.
Last year, the fundraiser drew in more than 500 people and this year, the Dobbs are hoping to attract more of a crowd now that the word is spreading. There is expected to be even more of a draw this year as Mr. Dobbs has decided to open his Corvette garage to public for the first time. His fantastic Corvette collection, housed in a 4,100 square feet building with 16-foot ceilings, may make Santa consider trading in his red sleigh—sorry Rudolph.
“We are in awe of the kindness and generosity shown by Lynda and Kirk again this holiday season as they warmly welcome the community back into their stunning home,” said Nancy Warren, executive director of the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation. “Yes you will see magnificent architecture, stunning Christmas décor and spectacular Corvettes but most importantly you will be helping your hospital respond to the health-care needs of local families.”
